Drought induced famine gets worse in Africa

The Un says there now over 12 million people in immediate need of humanitarian assistance in the Horn of Africa. "The term "famine" officially implies that at least 20 percent of households in a particular location face acute food shortages, severe malnutrition exists in over 30 percent of the population and there are two deaths per 10,000 people each day (Earthweek.com, 2011)."
